Dear Friends of San
Clemente Hockey:
I am happy to send you
this update on the successful signing of another one
year lease on our hockey property. We were able to not only sign a new
lease but also obtain a financial subsidy from
the City of San Clemente. This is all great news I wanted to share with you
directly. This means our leagues will continue
to operate in the foreseeable future.
This also means that the
City and the Parks & Rec staff view our facility as a great opportunity to host
not only roller hockey events but other sports and community activities. Since
our non-profit group took over operations four years ago, our long-term goal
was, and still is, to relocate the rink to our designated lot at Steed Park.
Now, with the backing and support of the City we will continue to
seek sponsors to aid us with that goal. If you
have any corporate contacts that you think may be interested in helping our
rink, please contact me.
For now,
please continue to support San Clemente Hockey
and Family Skate Center by signing up for leagues, participating in skate and
birthday party nights and spreading the word about hockey and the multi-uses of
our facility. Remember, we are a non-profit 501c
organization – all contributions are tax-deductible.
In addition to financial
support, there are other ways to help -- we’re seeking interested parties to
serve on our Board of Directors. We also offer
youth the opportunity to perform community service at the rink.
Thank you
to Lisa Pruett, our Operations Manager for her dedication to keeping things
running. If you want information on leagues, complete the attached form, visit
our website at
or call 370-3862.
