Scott Accongio has played the game of hockey for over 40 years. He has won 25 state titles, 10 national skating titles, and has played on 4 USA Teams at the Olympic Festival.

Scott has been coaching for 10 years. His coaching experience includes the professional RHI League, Team USA in 1992, was on the coaching staff for the Anaheim Bullfrogs in 1993, and the CHIL in 1994.

In 1996, Scott took the Junior World Team to Chicago where they took 2nd place behind Canada and the Senior World team to Italy where they took 1st place. In 1997, he coached the Pan Am World Team in Ecuador to a 1st place victory.

If you are looking for a team with a coach that has a reputation for developing players with an emphasis on team play, please attend our tryout.

Our teams practice in San Clemente.  Practices are twice a week. In addition, there is a “speed skate” that lasts an hour and a half and helps to develop speed and stamina. Our teams also skate in an in-house league that generally includes a game a week.

AKS Empire, as in previous years, will compete in Pacific Cup tournaments and in NARCh.  This generally involves a tournament once every three or four weeks.  We will be heading to NARCh Winternationals in Phoenix and the NARCh Finals in Canada. 

Good sportsmanship is strongly emphasized and encouraged.  Learning the values inherent to youth sports, including teamwork, reliability, patience, composure under stress, how to win graciously and how to lose graciously, playing by the rules, self-sacrifice and respect for others is an important part of the overall experience.
